Very Olde St. Nick is a curious brand in the whiskey world. Myths about the origins of the brand have taken on a life of their own, so much that it is now seen as a cult brand among whiskey lovers.
Initially the whiskey was mainly produced for export to Japan. Most of the bourbon probably came from Heaven Hill. In 2018, Allied Lomar, the owner of the Olde St Nick’s brand, opened the Preservation Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. This 8-year-old rye was sourced from Alberta Distillers and bottled for the Japanese market.
