Los Vecinos del Campo Espadin is produced in the Valles Centrales region of Oaxaca by a group of 10 master mezcaleros who use time-honored processes passed down by their ancestors to distill the small batches. The mezcaleros use locally grown and harvested agave Espadin and roast the agave piñas underground. The piñas are crushed using a stone molino, naturally fermented in wooden vats, and then double-distilled in copper pot stills. This mezcal is spicy up front and moves quickly to tropical fruits, ginger, and roasted peppers. Accolades from expert panels include 5 stars from F.
