A limited edition release in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Balcones Distilling in Waco, Texas. Balcones Peated Malt Whisky is made with malted barley that has been dried over a peat moss fire, a rare process that involves transporting the malted barley across the Atlantic to Texas.
The result of aging in oak casks, this phenomenal Malt has a rich nose with heavy aromas of earth and oak, developing further to create an incredibly round and creamy palate.
NOSE: The smoke effect of the peat is gentle, earthy, and aromatic with incense, charred cedar, toasted oak, and Teriyaki BBQ with a ginger cookie tingle.
TASTE: The flavor is rich and sweet, with soft smoky undertones of baking spices, roasted chilis, sultanas (golden raisins), Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread), espresso, and smoked meats.
