Mizu Green Tea Shochu, is an expression of honkaku, or traditional style, shochu that has been produced in Japan for five centuries. Shochu is known for being artisanal and hyper-local, and this bottling is no exception. It is hand crafted in the traditional way. This shochu is single distilled from a mash of local harvests; two-rowed barley, black koji rice, and freshly picked, then steamed, Ureshino green tea leaves. At 70 proof it is more concentrated like shochus of old to enhance the aroma, complexities, body and finish. Rich, bold, fragrant and delicious.
It has notes of fruits like unriped banana, passion fruit, matcha, fresh grass and cacao. It has a buttery Buttery texture with a long, delicious, lingering finish.
